Tuesday 25th January saw landlady Nancy Swanick rack up 40 years tenure at The Peveril of The Peak, Great Bridgewater Street, Nancy & late husband Thomas having taken on the pub in January 1971, with Clive Dunn's Grandad at top of the charts & introduction of decimal currency still two weeks away - a pint of Wilson's mild was 1s 6d for those first two weeks. Even CAMRA wasn't formed – CAMRA doesn't reach it's 40th anniversary until March 16th!
To mark this unique occasion, Trafford & Hulme CAMRA were joined by members from other local branches to honour Nancy with a special presentation evening.
